What kinds of videos do you make?TV SPOTS The traditional 15-30 second advertisements made for a television audience. Occasionally, clients like the longer web content that we made so much that they ask to recut that material to air on TV as well. Example of TV Spot made for Lumber Liquidators ONLINE ADVERTISEMENTS A blanket category for wide range of videos, including promos, commercials, and brand videos, created for and posted on your organization’s website or on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc. With most videos going online these days, and viewer attention spans perpetually shrinking, 90seconds or less is a good length to shoot for. Many pre-roll ads on YouTube are only 6 seconds! Example of brand video made for Trehus Builders CONCEPT VIDEOS A demonstration or short story about a product or service that’s in early development. Maybe it’s just sketches on a napkin right now, but it could be the next big thing. A concept video gets investors and employees excited about a new project. You’ve likely seen one in a Kick-Starter campaign. Big companies use these too. For example, let’s say a medical device company has an idea for an amazing new gadget that could save a lot of lives, but it’s going to take years of work and millions of dollars to research, design, manufacture, etc. The only way this life-saving concept will get off the ground is if investors can see it in action before they invest. So, we script out scenarios, hire actors, collaborate with designers and visual effects artists, to create a vision of the future that shows healthcare professionals using the gadget successfully. Viewers get to see it improving patient outcomes, saving a hospital money, or making a doctor’s job easier before the thing has even gone into production! Myrick Visual specializes in these concept videos. While this type of project represents a large portion of the work Ben and his partners do, we’re only allowed to share a few examples online because of the proprietary subject matter (trade secrets and such). Please call or email for more concept video samples. And expect to sign an NDA before viewing. Example of a concept video for Worrell Design TESTIMONIALS A video of a customer, client, or beneficiary praising an organization. In most cases, they talk about how the company’s product or service has helped them solve a problem. They might discuss who they are, how they use the product or service, and what they like about the company. Example of a testimonial video for Minnesota Independence College & Community SHORT DOCUMENTARIES Similar to a testimonial video, but more in-depth, Interviews and relevant footage are combined to tell a story that both informs and inspires your audience. Example of a short documentary / concept video for Worrell Design ANIMATIONS Animated videos, or animated compenents of a live-action video, can include a wide range of styles from 2D hand-drawn characters, moving graphics that explain complex statistics or workflows, or life-like 3D views inside a beating heart. Example of a 2D animated explainer video for Clario Analytics MUSIC VIDEOS A short film that integrates a song with imagery, and is produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Example of a music video shot with 1 Light Films for Heiruspecs

How much does it cost? One million dollars. Just kidding, but the point is it costs real money. Typically, $7,000 is a good starting point, and $70,000 a comfortable mid-point. With so many variables to consider, it’s impossible to say without a conversation first about the audience, the message, goals, and the timeline.

What equipment do you use?The choice of equipment is unique to each project's needs, so what we bring to set can vary greatly. That said, here is a select list of gear that's always on hand: Gear List
